About the environment...

Hello.

I will talk about the enviromental and how be environmentally friendly.

First, I think that this topic is very serious and is true that the government are more interesed and corcerned that in the past, but I think it is not enough. Is difficult revert all the damage, but is possible change a little the things and you can help to the environment, although be a litlle contribution.

I think the topic of environment is related with the culture, and I think is necessary a cultural change for the people give real important to this topic and take some patterns linked with the environment in tha dailylife. But, this is different because we live in a capitalist system, when is most important the money and time. But, I think that each person can help and care the own area in use.

In my case, I go to a “Brigada Ecológica”, this brigade is integrated for various youngs that moreover particing in a “Escuela de Yoga”. We make differents things in a land where we go, such separate all the rubbish in organic and no-organic, and the organic elemnts are used in the vegetable garden that we have. Too, we separate the no-organic rubbish and we tryed of recycle the most possible.   I think that each person can separate the rubbish and recycle some things.  

I think the chilean government doesn`t enough to promote the recycling. I think that the government and the chilean poblation in general aren`t interesed in care the environment, but there are people what are interesed in the topic and did change in your lifes, for example, they change the car for the bicycle.

I think is important that the government made environmental projects and campaign of recycling for the poblation can participe and learn how decrease the own levels of contamination.

I think the most coomon elements that people recycle are paper, cardboard box and bottle.

Finally, I can all people can find forms for protect the environment, you can “reduce”;  reduce the rubbish, the time in the shower. You can “recycle” some things, there are places or company where you can go. And you can “re-use” things in desuse and decrese your rubbish.

Welcome to Santiago...

Today I will talk of the town of Santiago.
First, I was born and lived all my live in Santiago and I have never lived in another country or place different than this city.

I know that the much people who are provincial or regions do not like Santiago, but I think it's not so bad.
Is true that in Santiago the transportation system is not very good, all the people running around and has stressful lives, and things like that. But I believe Santiago has good things and bad things like everywhere.
I think once you adapt to the lifestyle in the capital, you have a good time. For example, in Santiago there are many places to enjoy alone or with friends. Here are many museums, libraries, theaters and historical sites to discover.

Another thing I like of Santiago is that there are places for all tastes and interests of people.
As for me I like to do in Santiago is walking through the streets of Santiago, knowing new places, especially in older neighborhoods to learn about the architecture and history of the city's past.

If I could make some changes in the city, I think it would take the giant buildings; because I really hate the tall buildings and shopping centers, especially when they are constructed in an old residential zone or with small houses, because it breaks with all the architectural beauty of the place. I do not like when historic sites are destroyed instead of being preserved are destroyed to build the "buildings monsters" as I call them, because they generate a historical loss and break with the esthetic of the rest of the place, as when in a place full of small houses or buildings with moderate height, builds a building very tall in between.
Well, I think I saw a lot of the TV show "City Tour", where the architect Federico Sánchez walked the streets of the capital and was visiting and rescuing the beautiful of the architecture of Santiago, and he was critical as I.

I think if you are not of Santiago and want to know the city, you can choose do some touristic visit of the important historic neighborhoods of Santiago, or just take a map and walk the streets in search of adventure, I prefer the second option because it gives you more freedom, and you can find places that are not within the tour.
I think the places you want to meet in Santiago depend of your interests and tastes, but I think a good option is visit the museums, such “El Museo de Historia Nacional”, “El Museo de Arte Precolombino”, “Bellas Artes” (my favourite), the museums of the “Quinta Normal”, and much others. Too, there are others places such “La Casa Colorada”, “La Chascona” (one of the Neruda`s houses), the “Santa Lucía”, etc.

Finally, if you want to escape the stress and pollution of Santiago, you can take your travel bag and go somewhere on the outskirts of the city. Sometimes I do this, and I escaped to Pirque or Cajon del Maipo, are places near where I live.

A great chilean...

Today, suppose that I talk about the greatest chilean of all time.

First, I disagree with this idea, because I think that the history of Chile have many different greats persons and I think isn`t possible say who is the best chilean. I prefer talk about “distinguished figures” and mention to artists, academicians, writers, political figures and others.

I think is better talk about a chilean that like me, but I think there are many important and distinguished persons in the chilean history for me.

Well, I talk about my favourite chilean. He is a singer-songwriter, writer of poems,  novels and essay, reporter and representative figure of the “Nueva Canción chilena”. I refer to PATRICIO MANSS. He is my favourite singer and I love his music and books.

I think he is a important chilean figure, because he with to Victor Jara and Violeta Parra, a important singer-songwriter in the musical movement “La Nueva Canción Chilena”. He is singer and periodist, so he has much knowledge about the chilean history and he writted different books that refer to the chilean and latino american history. The books of  the autor are about historic topics, such a  “El Corazón a Contraluz”, “El Lento Silbido de los Sables”, “Memorial de Bonampak” and “La vida privada de Emile Dubois”.

Too, he are Bio-Bío región, and he work in different labors, such a foreman, mining and former of the radio of salitrera María Elena. He knew different persons and places, and he tryied of compile the “folclor chileno”, it is reflect in his albums “El folclor no ha muerto, mierda”. All the albums of Manns reflect his social and politic thinking, others albums are: “Chants de la résistance populaire chilienne (con Karaxú)”, “La Hora Final”, “Con la Razón y la Fuerza” and “Canción sin Límites”.

For other side, I knew to Patricio Manns in a concert and he autographed one book. I don`t what ask to Patricio Manns, but definitely would like talk and have know him.

about the chinese horoscope...

In the chinese horoscope my sign is goat, I did knew this is my sign, but not knew the characteristics of this. The page say that the elements of the goat are creativity, intelligence, dependability, and calmness; and I think that is true.

In general the description of the sign is very similar to my personality, becasue is true that I am very quiet and reserved and I like be alone, but in my home, because I feel comfortable. I am a shy person and is difficult for me talk about my emotions with other, and is more difficult know new persons. I prefer watch to the people more that approach and talk. And is trua that I spend much time absorbe in my thoughts.

For other side, I love all the art, preferably acting and painting, but I like too sing, dance and writte stories. And the page say that to the goat enjoy the artistics activities.

I think the only thing that isn`t similar to me is that the goats spend money on fashions and give them a first class appearance. And definitely I amn`t snob.  

I have few “close” friends, but I work for this frienships are really good. The part more sorprendent is the page say some good careers for the goats, such art history; and I like this and hope study in the future. 

Too, I am a metal goat,  and say that are very cultural and they’re most appreciative of the arts.

The more curious is that the horoscope is very similar to my personality, and the astrology horóscopo too, because I am virgo and the description of the sign is equal to me.

I like the description of the chinese horoscope about my sign. I think the horoscopes aren`t determinant, because not always get right. Althougth, in my case this happened.

The birth of erotic art...

Today I will talk about a new that relate with the archaeology and history. This new may be a little strange and is about a theme that maybe uncomfortable for some, but the way that the society sees the sex is purely cultural. And the new that I chose talk about this vision that each culture have about the sex.

The new is about the discovery of a bronze disk found in Putney, London, beside the river Thames. This disk is a roman piece depicting sex act and was specially made for spend in the ancient roman brothels and used for hire prostitutes.  The disk is an old piece of British erotic art and tokens the erotic imaginary of the Romans.  

The piece is evidence that in the Roman Londinium the brothels were occupied as in the Roman metropolis. Too, gives us information about the hidden art of the life of Roman Britain. In Roma was very common the erotic and pornography art, some cultural manifestations of this thinking are the walls painted with scenes of sex in the constructions of Pompeii.  These roman tokens had a direct influence in the birth of the modern pornography.

While, the piece is a rare discovery from Roman Britain, in the Italian Renaissance were well know this type of artefacts; although scholars don not know what they were. But as in the Renaissance everything from ancient cultures was considered noble, the scholars called these pieces as art, including the series erotic illustrations of Giulio Romano. 

Some of the classical erotic images engraved by Marcantonio Raimondi (1480-1534), a Italian renaissance engraver, emulate the images on tokens like the disk Roman London. The “I Modi”, (a famous erotic book of the Italian Renaissance), became a bestseller all over Europe and returned to the London of Shakespeare. It set the new style of erotic art of the Renaissance.

A good Christmas...

I talk about the lost Christmas…

Well, this year the Christmas was different for me, because was more special, I think   this was the best Christmas of all.

I spendt it at home with my family; my sister, my brother and my parents. We have some traditions in Christmas and always were together in this date. First, we rehearsed some Christmas Carol (for first time), because in my family my father play guitar and my brother and me sing in a choir. This was a new experience and very fun. Then, my father cook the dinner, he cooked lasagna (is the tradition) and my mother clean the house and decorate the table, and my brothers and me put in order the rooms and the living.

Then, We changed our clothes, and we dressed formaly and we had a dinner (other tradition).

When we finished, my father with my sister and my brother were to wait to the “Viejito Pascuero” (other tradition), meanwhile my mother and me put the presents under the three, then both get out. We had a short walk and see the decoration and lights of the others houses.

When we retorned, we opened the presents, my sister was very excited with her new bicycle. This moment was very emotive and for first time in a long time I gave a present to each.

This Christmas was very special and perfect, because I was different and discovered that I like this date and I love my family.  

On Sunday, we were at the home with a aunt, were were togheter all the day.

About of language

Hello everyone, today I talk about the language and how this has evolved in the time. For talk about this topic, I saw a video of Mark Pagel.

I think this video is interesting, but the author doesn´t explains in detail the points of his exposition.

He says that the humans have a “social learning” and we are different to the rest of animals for this, because is the form with we accumulate of knowledge; the chimpanzees only copied. The language is a social technology and is important in the cooperation and communication.

I think the most relevant for me is the point of the visual theft, the author says that the cumulative cultural adaptation or social learning is a visual theft, and the ancient humans confronted this crisis with two options; the small group family or the cooperatives societies, and they choose the second as a social form of cooperation and communicating.

Too, he says the language can be barriers of stop in the communicating and says that the future of the world is having only one language.

I think that isn´t possible, because would lose millions of languages, and this is require and very big change cultural in the world. And, I think that not necessarily the different languages are barriers in the communicating, because. I don´t know, but I think is possible the communicating of others forma and understand to other person with different language and produced communicating anyway.
